Modern Romance was my book club’s March book club selection. Written by comedian/actor Aziz Ansari, it’s a look at the dating practices in today’s society, with a focus on how technology interplays. Dry at first, the first chapter took a bit to get through, it quickly picked up and if anything made me grateful for the fact that I do not have to participate in today’s dating world.
Not a complete fan of Aziz, I’ve only seen one special he’s done, I could still here is voice as I read the narrative and appreciated some of his comical side remarks and insights. Surprisingly, the book club agreed and the topic actually stimulated one of the lengthier conversations we’ve had. So if you can get past that first chapter and the topic interests you, definitely worth a read.
