Backtracking a bit in my L is for Lawless Book Review. You see I’ve already read M is for Malice and N is for Noose. In L is for Lawless we find Kinsey hitting the road. At the request of Henry, her landlord and friend, she’s unraveling the mystery behind a neighbor’s death. Was he in the military or not? What sinister secrets did he hide in his past?
My Thoughts
I liked this story for several reasons. One we got Kinsey out of her usual elements, traveling around the country to unravel the mystery. Two, the supporting characters, though not regulars, were interesting and engaging. Three, how to unravel the mystery, kept me guessing to the end. Lastly, I liked that we picked up the story of Kinsey’s missing family a bit. I found that a flaw in K is for Killer. Though Sue Grafton revealed Kinsey’s family in J is for Judgement, she made no mention of them in K is for Killer. I’m glad they resurfaced here.
So as usual, if you like the series, you should like this one too.
