G is for GumshoeG is for Gumshoe is the seventh book in the Kinsey Millhone series by Sue Grafton. Here Kinsey gets involved in two different cases one of which requires the assistance of another PI. Like the others, this book moves at a good pace and Kinsey soon finds herself in danger yet again. But it’s the first book where I started to notice the Kay Scarpetta Syndrome (i.e., where our heroine, who should know better, did something stupid).

Duh

In this case, Kinsey, whose got a contract on her life and has already had several attempts made against it, goes off on her own, without her bodyguard. And of course, that’s the moment the killer strikes.

Other than that glaring mistake, the book kept me guessing a bit.

My Mistake

While I had unraveled one mystery I honestly believed that both investigations would tie together, but they didn’t.

So I’ll continue with the series for now, hoping that kind of stupidity doesn’t rear its ugly head again.
