Some other thoughts on the Centre before I forget.

I’ve discovered I do not hate “modern” art – just maybe the stuff created post 1960 (that resides on the fourth floor of the Centre). There was some strange stuff there (don’t ask about the genitals room or the movie of the woman hoola-hooping with a circle of barbed wire – gross). On the fifth floor though, housed items from the early 1900s through 1960 and I discovered I love Henri Matisse and there were some excellent photos which “touched” us because many were taken in New York City or at Coney Island.

So what I did learn yesterday (though Sammi had the expected tolerance of about 90 minutes) was that I shouldn’t have avoided the Pompidou Center and I’d like to return some day when I’m less “rushed.”
